This week, after all the experimentation and exploration, I settled on the pine trees I drew in photoshop for the poster's visuals. It is painted to look like a vector as the brush strokes are hard to achieve in illustrator. I layered them and added shadows and lighting to maintain the paper cutout theme.
My lecturer, Mr Michael pointed out that the poster does not look like it belongs to an electronic music festival, which I also agree with after reviewing my work again.
Therefore I changed the genre of the festival to : Jam Band.
The change of genre was made to also relate better with the event's aim which is to encourage the young community to engage with nature. The EDM genre does not really portray a 'back to nature' feel.
